Ephesians 1:3
Spiritual Blessings (2)

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

With the Holy Spirit in us, the Father and the Son with us and the Word of God to teach us; with the saints of God to share with us, the family of God to fellowship with us, the church of God to participate with us – we have “all spiritual blessings.” Though much of what we have is not seen, the reality of it is not lessened in any way. The joy of the Lord, the peace He gives, the power He imparts, the grace He bestows, the light He uses, the truth He teaches – these are “all spiritual blessings.” The scriptures telling of the past, the guidance of the Word of God in life in the present, the prophecies telling of the future – these are “all spiritual blessings.” Thanks be to God!

The Father knows, chooses, plans from before the action of creation – He has a purpose.
A people, a family unique and faithful to Him; holy, blameless – a pleasure to Him.
Sons and daughters, mature, responsive, delighted to be accepted – by Him.
Raised, made new, seated in heavenly places; identified, dignified, glorified – with Him.
THE SELECTION OF THE FATHER.

The Son has come, it was in God’s plans that redemption of His own would be paid – by His blood.
A sacrifice has been carried out, we’re made near to God, cleansing power has been applied – by His blood.
We are cleared of guilt, legal wrath appeased, forgiveness granted, justification imparted – by His blood.
God is satisfied, Christ entered in on our behalf, we too can come into the holiest – by His blood.
THE SACRIFICE OF THE SON.

The Spirit works, convicting, convincing, revealing, regenerating – making the Word of God real.
He then saves, indwells, keeps, empowers, fills, seals, guides – using the Word of God to give direction to us.
In life-situations the Spirit impresses us by interpretation, application – of the Word of God when we read.
As we learn from the scriptures of truth, He enlightens our mind, gives the meaning, is our intercessor – we learn by the Word of God,
THE SEALING OF THE SPIRIT.

“O gracious God and Father, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: it is with a grateful heart I bow my head and heart to express my appreciation for all these wonders of Thy grace that has been given to me. I find it hard to divide the many blessings I have received into categories such as “spiritual” and “non-spiritual.” It seems like everything has a spiritual part to it, so thanks for my wife on this her birthday, thanks for my children and grandchildren, thanks for my extended family, thanks for my brothers and sisters in Christ, thanks for letting me work in Thy field today. Thanks for the health and strength, for the sound mind and body, for the Word of God and the Spirit of God. Thanks for loving me, for being patient with me, for allowing me to speak for Thee to others. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
